Conference on Volunteerism cancelled due to COVID-19

CONFERENCE ON VOLUNTEERISM CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19

Like many of you, our Conference Organizing Committee including VMPC and AVR-SK and our partners has been monitoring the situation with COVID-19, the coronavirus, and its impact upon travel and meetings.

We have made the decision to cancel the Conference On Volunteerism, planned for June 8 to 10, 2020 and co-hosted by VMPC and AVR-SK. This means the conference will not proceed for 2020.

We appreciate your patience as we have worked our way through the various scenarios and done the due diligence to minimize impact on you our members and registrants, our host associations (VMPC and AVR-SK), our speakers, volunteers, sponsors, suppliers and partners.

ANNULATION DE LA CONFÉRENCE SUR LE BÉNÉVOLAT EN RAISON DE LA COVID-19

Comme la plupart d’entre vous, le comité organisateur de la conférence, qui comprend des membres de PGBC et d’AVR-SK, et nos partenaires ont suivi avec attention l’évolution de la crise de la COVID-19, le coronavirus, et son impact sur les voyages et les réunions.

Nous avons pris la décision d’annuler la Conférence sur le bénévolat qui devait avoir lieu du 8 au 10 juin 2020 et qui était organisée conjointement par PGBC et AVR-SK. Cela signifie qu’il n’y aura pas de conférence en 2020.

Nous apprécions votre patience alors que nous avons dû jongler avec divers scénarios et agi avec diligence afin d’atténuer l’impact sur nos membres et les personnes déjà inscrites, sur nos associations hôtes (PGBC et AVR-SK), nos conférenciers, les bénévoles, les fournisseurs et les partenaires.

Request for Proposals – Speakers for the 2020 Volunteer Management Hybrid Conference

Proposals are now being accepted until March 17, 2020 to be a presenter for the Volunteer Management Hybrid Conference (VMHC) presented by AL!VE, Better Impact, and VMPC. Now in its sixth year, this event is the leading online event for our industry. Last year’s event involved nearly 50 remote locations and 1,000 attendees in North America. This year’s theme is ‘Managing Risk.’

Conference on Volunteerism – coming to Saskatoon June 2020

o   Volunteer Management of Canada’s annual conference will be hosted by AVR-SK in Saskatoon in 2020.

o   This year’s conference theme is VUCA2 and it will explore what it is like to operate in a VUCA world (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) or seeking to establish a new order of VUCA (Values, Unity, Connectedness, Abundance).  Attend this 2.5 day conference to connect with people and ideas from across Canada’s volunteer sector.

AVR-SK Professional Development Day June 13, 2019

AVR-SK PD Day June 2019

You are invited to join your AVR-SK Executive Board for the Annual Professional Development Day on June 13, 2019. We are excited to be partnering with the Saskatoon Public Libraries and hosting our event at the Alice Turner Library in their meeting room. Our day will start at 10:00am and conclude at 4:00pm. We start the day with  the feature presentation from Erin Huber, CVA on the Fundamentals for Corporate Group Volunteer Programs. Spend the afternoon with us for a World Cafe in which we network to discuss common trends occurring in the world of Volunteer Management such as Youth and Newcomers as volunteers and program problem solving. Shifting agendas from previous conferences, the afternoon activity is not mandatory but instead an invitation to those wishing to network and problem solve. Another new addition to the PD Day is the request that anyone wishing to spend the full day with us bring their own lunch. Snacks and beverages will be provided but please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions at the time of registration.
